Jealousy

Jennifer’s Body failure makes me happy. Why? Because Diablo Cody’s success grates on me. How dare anyone come from nowhere and have success!

I believe jealousy comes from a fear that success is finite and that if someone else has any, the less for you.

But I’ve met some VERY successful people, and not through any action on my part. No, the reason I was able to meet them was that they had made themselves available to help others.

SO that’s kinda what this blog is about, helping others.

OK, that’s a lie. It’s about getting some attention, but if I have to help people to get some , so be it. Just don’t expect me to be happy when you succeed.

Show, Don’t Tell

Somebody should have given that advice to Shakespeare. I mean, talk about long winded exposition. And characters talking to themselves? Show the characters emotional state, don’t TELL us!

What a hack!

(That was satire. But remember, you can break the rules if you’re really, really, really good)

Writing tip

If you think up a good scene with two characters with some decent banter, WRITE IT DOWN!

You will not remember it the next morning and as you try to recreate it, no matter how good it is, it will pale in comparison with how you imagine it would have been if you COULD ONLY REMEMBER!!!
